This superb single malt reflects the laid-back attitude of this Island. This rich, fruity but smokey flavour is the result of a lengthy fermentation and 16-year ageing. The Islay entry in the 'Classic Malts' series is a deep, dry, and intensely peaty bruiser. Lagavulin 16, probably the most pungent of all Islay malts, is not for the faint of heart, yet it inspires obsessive devotion in its many devotees.
